While Jovie is constantly changing and growing, of course, I've noticed over these past couple years that every so often there is a point that seems like she has grown leaps and bounds over the span of a month. This is one of those months.
A couple weeks ago, she leaned back on her elbows in the bathtub and put her head under the running water so I could rinse her hair. She used to be terrified of that, and suddenly, overnight, she was fine with the suggestion and has done it every bath time since! She can put some of her harder puzzles together all by herself now, no help from me. Yesterday, we went to the big park and she wanted to swing, and she meant the big girl swings. I lifted her on and she held on and listened to my instructions to pump her legs and watched the little girl next to her. I tried to move her legs to show her, and she said "No, Mama! Higher!" So I just started pushing her, and she pumped her legs like she's been on the big girl swings all of her life. And today, I made lentil tacos and she stood next to me on a chair at the counter and help put together her own taco. She wanted the lentils to be separate, but the shell had Greek yogurt, cheese, bell peppers, tomatoes and avocado. I wrapped it up and showed her how to eat it, and she chowed down. I've been so amazed at how grown up she is!
