Day of Solitude

During my leave, Mike was kind enough to watch Jovie for the day while I went back to Shenandoah for a day alone.

I started by stopping at our favorite apple place- Lee's.  Cheap, delicious, and I bought a LOT for applesauce making.  It's a beautiful orchard/farm.

Then I went on to Shenandoah.  It was a great day of taking in the beautiful views, hiking and just being alone with God.

The main trail I did during the day is Bearfence Trail.  It's one we've wanted to do for a while, and we can't really do it with Jovie.  There are lots of rock scrambles, and it's fantastic.  I tried to take some pictures to capture the rock scrambles and the views, but it's always difficult to capture the full magnitude.

There is one point in the trail where you are on top of a rock, and have a full panoramic view.

Trying to capture what it's like to look down off the rock

Views from where I ate lunch on Bearfence trail
See the person on the rock?  That's looking back a the point in the trail with the full panoramic view
More views from my lunch spot

 Ending the trail

 Beautiful overlooks
 Big Meadows

 The Limberlost trail
 Watching the sunset
