October in Ohio

On Saturday, October 3rd, Jeff drove us to the airport and we were off to Ohio for a week.   This is the first time Jovie could remember taking an airplane ride (she had plenty before the age of two when she was free to fly!)

 Snacks at the airport
And, her best friend came with her!

On Sunday, we tried on flower girl dresses in preparation for Aunt Sarah's wedding.  She liked the headgear best.  :)

 This was her favorite dress

It was touch and go for a while, but we eventually got her to try on what we needed her to try on.
Later, playing baseball in the yard with Grandpa Tom

On Monday, we spent the day with Grandma Susie and Grandpa Chick.  We went to Bruckner Nature Center, Chic-fil-a, and played at their house.
The pond was Jovie's favorite part of Bruckner

In the evening, Kelly took our family pictures at the Englewood Reserve, and then we had pizza with the Hoberts at M&D's house.
Fun times, looking cute!

On Tuesday, Mike, Dad Weldt and Dad Young went golfing, so we girls went pumpkin picking at Monin's.
One of my favorite pictures of the week!
After pumpkin picking, we stopped at the Englewood Reserve's natural playground.  Jovie LOVED all the sticks.
She liked trying to fish things out of the creek with them.

Then we went back to G&G's and Jovie played by the creek (one of her favorite things to do there).
Tuesday night, Mike and I went on a little date, and ended up at the Reserve again!  Then we went to Collin's high school soccer game at Northmont, which was really fun.

On Wednesday, the boys went golfing again.  I went for a long walk alone in the Englewood Reserve in the morning.  The fall colors are starting!

That afternoon, we met up with Michelle and her girls at Cox Arboretum- we try to do that as often as we can when we come back to Ohio.
Here are Jovie and Evie with some of their treasures they found- feathers!
Climbing to the top of the tower at Cox
After that, we went to Aunt Candee and saw all the Hollanders that live in Ohio.  I didn't get any pictures, but it was really fun to see all of them!  Lots of kiddos, so more playing for Jovie.  On the way back to Grandma Marie's, this happened.  :)
We at dinner at the Youngs and then had a backyard fire with s'mores!
On Thursday, after another Mike and I went to the reserve (he ran, I walked), we met Great-Grandpa Traylor at Skyline for lunch.  Jovie was really sweet to him and chatted with him a lot.
Then she played ball with him in the yard.

 Playing with Grandpa
That evening we went to Grandma Susie and Grandpa Chick's house, played and ate dinner.
Jovie and Grandpa Chick had some good alone time playing in the basement together.
So, I guess I like the Englewood Reserve.  I took another walk there on Friday morning.
On Friday, we had the Hobert boys all to ourselves since they didn't have school.  I was really looking forward to some dedicated time with them- it's been a while!  We went bowling and we all had lots of fun.
Love these guys!  (Who are now both definitively taller than me!)

 Dollars for the vending machine!
Friday night, we ate dinner with the Hoberts.  Fun times!

Saturday, we got ready to go back home.  Here is Jovie on Saturday morning with the Youngs- just a lazy morning, which they got to enjoy a lot of with her.
 Ponytail twins!

Before we left for the airport we needed a good picture with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Marie.
Aunt Sarah got Jovie a bar of soap with a fishie in it.  Jovie got it free the night we got home!

What a lot of adventures we had in Ohio!
