Jovie is two years old! It's been amazing to notice how she's really been shedding all of the "baby" and is such a little girl now.
She still makes us laugh a lot, and has that great little sense of humor. She loves to be silly, and her new favorite thing is giving or getting "zerberts". She now knows when we are going to think something is funny, and she'll giggle and say "I funny." She smiles and laughs all the time, and is full of life and energy. She gets really excited to do fun things, and has even told me on occasion "I 'cited, Mama!" Jovie loves to get out and go, especially with her friends. She loves to be with her friends, and name them as well as their parents.
Speaking of names, she knows her first and last name these days. It comes out "Jovie Chay-yer". It's pretty cute.
And that's not the only thing she knows. She has a great little memory, and knows parts or all of many of her books and will "read" them to me, or will tell us "you missed a page!" when we skip one. Jovie loves to sing and has lots of songs memorized, and her favorites include the bedtime songs we sing to her: "Jesus Loves Me", "Jesus, All for Jesus", "You are My Sunshine" and "I'm Proud of You." She also knows almost all the songs on her John Lithgow cd, and especially loves songs with motions to them.
Jovie seems to really love to learn! She knows her "ABC's" (although "l-m-n-o-p" is questionable), can count to 13, and knows some of her opposites like up/down, in/out, on/off. She can identify most of the capital letters by sight (and loves to point them out in public on signs!), and several numbers. Her vocabulary is exploding, and she speaks in sentences a lot, typically 3-5 words long. Although, she still is working on mastering the correct use of pronouns. For now, it's super cute when she messes it up. One of my favorites is that when she wants me to hold her she raises her arms and says "Pick you up". :) She is a little parrot and repeats everything we say, it seems. And, every now and then she picks up a Spanish vocabulary word.
Jovie melts our hearts with her squeezes around our necks, big kisses, and the unprompted "Jovie loves Momma." She has said that a couple times now (once while we were watching the rain on the porch!) and it is just the BEST! She often says "thank you" unprompted, and even says "Thank you playing with me, Daddy!"
She's been potty trained (except at nap and night time) for several weeks now, which has been great. She was pretty easy to train, and has been rocking it!
Jovie seems to run everywhere (including away from me when I ask her to come here), and has learned to jump with both feet off the ground.
She is so fun, and has been such fun to watch learn and grow. Can't wait to see what this year brings!
