In mid-July, the Hoberts came to visit!
Lots of fun, but we were tired! :) Thanks for visiting, Hoberts!
On Wednesday the 17th, I took the day off and we went to the Yards Park.
Brayden and Jovie had lots of fun playing together
After that, we went to Tortilla Cafe...
...and then went to Eastern Market...
...to stop at the bakery to get some goodies!
A ride back to the car on Uncle Jeremy's shoulders: "Ho-sey", as Jovie calls the "horsey ride"
A little indoor ball playing with cousins
In the evening, we played at the pool
Then, some quality time with Auntie Kel
On Friday the 19th, we drove to Slaughter Bay where the Hoberts had rented a house for a few days
It was super hot, but we spent some time on the bay beach. Not great for swimming, but a beautiful bay with wildlife like little jellyfish and horseshoe crab
Jovie liked to play on the porch stairs
Sunset on the bay beach after dinner
"I see a boat!" One of Jovie's favorite phrases (sometimes even when it's a construction crane)
Hoberts by the bonfire
Horseshoe crabs mating at night
On the 20th, we went to the ocean
The waves were HUGE! We had tons of fun playing and boogie-boarding, but we got a little roughed up. We saw dolphins, which Jovie talked about for a month.
Jovie chucked sand (accidentally, I think) at Collin right before this picture
Playing ball at the beach
Lunch break!
We went back and put Jovie down for a nap at the bay beach house. The tide was pretty far out, so Kelly and I went for a walk for a bit (but couldn't stay out too long because it was so hot)
On our wildlife walk
We saw hermit crabs, snails, and had to come back because of all the little jellyfish
Jovie liked playing a bit on the enclosed porch
Playing on the beach one last time before dinner
Eating at a Mexican restaurant on Saturday evening
Zonked out on the drive home on Saturday night
