Predictably Unpredictable

Jovie is just like any toddler - totally unpredictable.  Mac 'n' cheese is her favorite food for weeks on end; then, suddenly, one day she throws a fit and won't eat it.  But she'll eat a huge bowl of peas!  Or, she loves to read a certain book, then, one day, she refuses to read it anymore.  And, like any almost-two-year-old, she'll throw fits for who knows what reason.

But, I've discovered that she's actually totally predictable in some ways.

For example, every time we walk around our court, she'll peek her head through the fences to play peek-a-boo:

Or, she'll stop to pick clovers and dandelions and proudly bring them to me (she also does this with rocks and sticks):

I've been a parent long enough now to know that someday, these things will also stop suddenly and abruptly, and she'll lose interest in them and turn her attention to something else.  (Case-in-point, she now only sits on the stairs in front of our condo every now and then, when she used to stop every time we entered our condo.)

But, it's nice to know that for now, I can count on her to find the wonder in these things and share it with me.
