The weekend was nice weather and lots of fun. On Saturday, I ran the Georgetown 10-miler with Theresa (and Dave, technically, but he was WAY in front of us.) Mike and I almost didn't make it on time because there was another race nearby and lots of the roads were closed. But after my freak-out and a call to Theresa, we made it. The race started out cold, but beautifully sunny, so it got warm by the end of the race. It was a small race along the Canal Tow-path, and felt very different from most races I've run, but it was really fun, my knees made it, and we did pretty well. First time I've done this distance since Jovie!
Saturday afternoon was nap time, and then we went to Cactus Cantina with our friends for a fun meal.
Sunday was gorgeous! Here's Jovie strutting her stuff on the way to the car, carrying some stuffed animals (which she does all the time these days).
After church, lunch and nap, we packed a snack for an afternoon enjoying the weather. We tried Gravelly Point but it was PACKED! One look at the parking lot and we pulled out and decided to go somewhere less packed and ended up at Lyndon B. Johnson Memorial Grove for a great afternoon of playing and enjoying the weather.
At the finish
Mike and Jovie cheered for us along the way!
We trained together for this thing!

It's so fun to watch her explore and discover all kinds of things that just seem ordinary to us.
Learning about Lyndon B. Johnson
Discovering the "We-wo" daffodils
She tried to pick them, so we had to intervene pretty quickly
She loved the rocks. We had to stop her from eating them a lot, but she was SO excited to play with them.
So proud to show her discoveries to Daddy. I think he should get ready, because this is just the beginning of her rock and leaf collection, I'm sure. :)
Watching the ducks
What a great place to grow up!
