Going into this weekend, we had no plans. It was kind of amazing and wonderful. It was wide open to do some fun, impromptu things!
On Friday, we went to the pool for an hour in the afternoon. Then, our friends the Cuddingtons invited us over for an impromptu London Olympics Opening Ceremonies watching party. The Smiths, McGinnis' and us answered the call. We all have kiddos, so we didn't stay too late, but it was fun to enjoy the opening ceremonies together with some grilled chicken fajitas and LOTS of chips and salsa. :)
Jovie doesn't get to watch much TV, and we thought these were some cute pictures. Babies watching TV together!
The after-party. :) We think she looks like a little Who here, with her left-over ponytail
Saturday, we went to the pool again, did a lot of resting and sleeping in and laying around and Skyping with Grandma and Grandpa.
Then we decided that since there won't be a summer vacation this year, we would take a day to go to the beach! On Sunday morning, we took our packed bags (wow, you need a lot of stuff when you have a baby, even just for a day trip!), loaded the car, and drove to Cape Henlopen, a Delaware State Park. Fair warning: LOTS of beach pictures coming!
At the beach, Jovie LOVED to watch the birds! She would point and talk and laugh at them.
Figuring out the sand
Yum, shovel!
Not sure about the waves...
Hang onto Daddy!
Trying to get her comfortable
Going to see those birds she loves!
More comfy now!
Jabbering to the birds, waiting for the next wave
That was fun, Daddy!
Wait, not that close!
Pick me up, Mama!
Those arms were flapping!!
Tasting sand for the first time :)
That tastes weird!
But, going in for more!
Having so much fun!
Playing with the "beach" umbrella - yes, we looked ridiculous, but Jovie didn't get sunburned!
Really loving the sand
I love the beach!!
Lounging beach pose
Happy, clapping baby!
Love you!
Cleaned up
On the way to dinner, she totally passed out...
... and stayed asleep through Daddy taking her out of the car.
At dinner at Kindle in Lewes
