August 2015

The "leftover" August pictures:

Our first time exploring Haddon Lake park (Aug 1)
Playing games on the porch (Aug 2)
 Sweeping
On August 10 & 11, I went back to D.C. for meetings, and Mike and Jovie came with me.  Jovie and Mike swam at the hotel pool, and Jovie really liked the "warm, little" pool (the hot tub)!
The evening of August 10th, we got to meet baby Lily!  (And see Alex and Nate, of course)
On the 22nd, Jovie spent the night with the Rozelles and Mike and I want to Amada, a delicious restaurant in Philly.  The next morning, we had a lazy morning and then went to Station House for breakfast.  Happy 12th Anniversary!
Jovie likes to wear all of Molly's running medals at one time :)
August 29, getting ready for a little birthday shopping for Molly
On August 29th, we had a little birthday get-together for Molly.  We went for ice cream later at the (locally) famous little drive in ice cream place in Maple Shade.

It's a....

GIRL!

We had our ultrasound today, and Jovie was so excited when the technician announced that it was a girl that she almost couldn't contain herself.  She started jumping all over Mike, her chair, and all over the room.  When we left the doctor's office, she ran out of the office shouting "Can we tell everyone, Mommy?"  We are all excited.

More birthday!

On the afternoon of August 19th, Grandma Susie and Grandpa Chick arrived.  Although most of the festivities were set for the weekend, we let her have one present to open from G&G and bought her an ice cream cake with Snoopy on it.  She enjoyed the mini celebration.

The gift we let her open from G&G was a fishing pole.  So, on August 20th while I was at work, Grandpa, Grandma and Daddy took her fishing for the first time.  She had fun!  But some of these pictures are hilarious.
She apparently did a great job practice casting.

Here, Grandpa is baiting the hook for real.
There's a fish!  Jovie is excited!

However, as the fish gets closer, she is less and less sure.  Then the fish flops...
And this is the reaction.  :)
They say she kept fishing and had a good time, but any time they would actually catch one, she would let Daddy or Grandpa reel it in and touch it.

On Friday, in the afternoon, we went to Anna's play and to Aunt Tiffy's house for a cookout after.  I thought I got a picture of Anna and Jovie at the play, but for some reason, I don't.  It was really cute, and Jovie enjoyed it.

On Saturday, the Rozelles came over so we could have a full-on birthday party.  The girls went to Paint a Treasure in Haddon Heights, and had a fun time choosing something to paint.

Of all the super cute things, Jovie chose a frog.

Jovie used many paintbrushes!  By my count, it was in the 30's.  She names her frog "Sheeba" and Sheeba has an honored place on our porch.

The girls and their final creations!
Lunch back at our house- it was a gorgeous day!
Then, on to opening presents (You'll notice there were many outfit changes during the day.)
 Here comes the big one!
 It's...
 a...
Blue Bike!!  With a basket and streamers, of course.
The Rozelles got her a super cute long, long dress.  Which she is modeling here.
 Family photos!

 Cupcakes!

Trying out the bike (and wearing the new outfit from G&G)
The first of many practice runs

 Snuggles with Grandma and Grandpa

Whew!  So much fun and so many celebrations for one loved little girl!
