One Hundred Days
Today is Jovie's "100-day" birthday! While some days are tougher than others, we have been so grateful for Jovie every day! She brings so much joy, laughter and many smiles to our house. It is fascinating to watch her grow and change and we love her more than we thought possible.
Here are some pictures of her on her 100th day. Happy 100th day to the smartest, sweetest, cutest baby I know!
Jovie has a new skill: If you hold her hands and say "So Big!" she'll push herself up to stand.
We also spent the evening of this one hundredth day putting up our Christmas tree. Every year since we've been married, Mike and I put up our tree, order pizza and listen to one very awful Christmas CD without skipping any songs. It's our tradition, and we were so excited to share it with Jovie this year!
She enjoyed watching us, and was fascinated by the lights.
Putting up Jovie's first ornament; notice how happy she is :)
She really did like the tree, and had a lot of fun.

Mason Neck Adventures
The Friday after Thanksgiving was a warm and beautiful day, so we headed out to Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge for a walk and some bird-watching. Jovie likes being outside, and Mike and I love it too, so we take every advantage to spend some time out and about.

Jovie's First Thanksgiving!
Mommy and Daddy are so thankful for our Jovie Rae!!
Jovie's first Thanksgiving was a fun one! It was a full day, spent here in DC among friends, some of our "family away from family".
First, we watched Daddy and Robert run the Alexandria Turkey Trot.
Peyton and Jovie, ready to watch Daddy(s) run!
Peyton is way excited to cheer on her daddy, too!
Owen is the only child actually old enough to be interested...

Runners!
The McGinnis Family
After catching a bit of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Kennel Club dog show on TV, we want to Founding Farmers with the Smiths, McGinnis' and Steve. Lots of fun and good food, at a VERY leisurely pace. :)
Then, everyone came back to our house for some dessert and fun times.
Jovie loves to play with Madeline!
And let's not forget watching football with Daddy! (Yes, sadly, Jovie is mesmerized by the television.)
To be fair, Daddy and Jovie also spend a good amount of time talking and playing - WAY more than watching TV. :)

Three Months
Yes, it's true. Jovie is three months old. I'll skip the obligatory "can't believe she's growing up" and move right to the giraffe comparison pictures.
The photo shoots are more interesting these days as Jovie moves around and tries to get the giraffe. :)
Jovie got Howie! First time...
Our sweet baby Jovie!
- Hold her head up and turn it to see what she wants to see
- Play in her Bumbo
In this one, she's fascinated with her pants.
- Grab toys (that are within a reasonable distance) and brings them to her mouth
- Roll from side to back and back to side - sometimes
- Watches hand motions, arm movements and facial expressions and tries to imitate them
- And the all important sleep 10+ hrs through the night! (She's been doing this since a little after the two month mark, and Mommy and Daddy love it!)
Not only does she have developmental milestones, but she has some pretty cute little antics that really mark her personality. She:
- Still loves that bath and is super sweet during bath-time!
- Tips her head and laughs out loud like she's in on the joke when others in the room are laughing
- Coos like she's singing with you when you sing to her during playtime
- Gives the crooked grin and wrinkled nose when she's really having fun
- Gives the coy grin by tucking her chin and turning her head when you praise her
- Likes "Eskimo Kisses" and "I'm gonna get your nose!"
- Loves to be entertained and talked to, and always is aware of what's going on in the room
- Smiles and laughs when I move her legs to the song from Madagascar "I Like to Move it"
- Looks right in your eyes and yells when she's upset (this one might not be cute, but right now it's a little funny. Like Uncle Jeff says, she can go from "zero to tomato in 3.5 seconds.")
